SHOPPING ON RAASAY
There are number of shopping opportunities on Raasay including the island shop and post office as well as art and craft outlets.
Even though Raasay is a small island, with a permanent population of only around 175, it has an excellent and well-stocked community-owned shop. You will also find a selection of outlets on the island where you can choose presents for your nearest and dearest or a lovely item to take home with you as a reminder of your visit.
Raasay Community Stores

Raasay Community Stores is located in Inverarish, within walking distance of most of the island’s population and only 15–20 minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal. The shop stocks a wide range of groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread and rolls, daily newspapers, crisps and snacks, wines, beers and spirits, and much, much more! Local food and drink produce includes Raasay venison, Dexter beef, Raasay honey, and Raasay whisky and gin. Postcards and greetings cards are available by local photographers and artist Judy Evans.
Opening hours: Mon–Sat 0900–1730.
The Post Office (free cash withdrawals available) is also located within the shop and is open Mon–Sat 0930–1200.
